Today I would like to tell you all about the new TokyoMTG!
As a result of the hard work of our staff over the last several weeks, we are renewing the website and our store in Suidobashi is about to reopen!
A More Functional Website and Community Support
TokyoMTG started six years ago as an online store with a simple goal: to provide an easy to use website for people to get Magic cards. The MTG industry was very different back then and buying cards online wasn't as easy as it is today. Back then, all you needed to succeed was a basic and semi-functional website, but that's no longer enough these days.
In the past year or two, we've gradually changed the functions of our website and increased the amount of products on offer, but lately things have been getting a bit messy; we've outgrown our current website.
The renewal this time is focusing more on our users' needs, making all sections of our website much more clear and easier to use, as well as providing content that suits various types of users.
Now of course, the most important of these is the ability to shop. Our new website is designed so customers can quickly find the product they're looking for. The products are clearly separated, with a multi-functional, detailed search engine added; so please give it a go for your next MTG purchase! The new website will launch June 1st!
A Store Adapted to the New World and a Beacon of Support for the Community
Thank you all for your patience! TokyoMTG Suidobashi store will resume operations from Wednesday, June 3rd!
The complete in-store renewal project was postponed, but we are prepared to get back in touch with all of you, now that things with the CoronaVirus have calmed down a bit. The store layout has been adjusted a bit to avoid things getting too crowded and our sales space has been made more compact, which should make things easier to use.
Alongside resuming business, we've decided to introduce TokyoMTG's "Matching Service". In the current state we're in, where tournaments or large meetups can't be held, it's become exceedingly difficult to find someone to play with. So, we figure this service could help out the community.
Simply put, our in-store playspace is now working under a reservation system, which you can of course do as a group. Additionally, you can apply alone, and we'll find somebody for you to play with! Using this system will make it very easy to become a part of the community and make some new friends. So, give it a spin the next time you're out and about!
This is a period of massive change, but if anyone can make it out of this it's the TokyoMTG community! So again, thank you for all of your continued support and can't wait to see you all again!
